Creating an archive of stories of life working in the
bus and coach industry |
|
|
LATEST ADDITIONS: Last updated June 22, 2008 Ever wondered how to drive a
trolleybus? Derek Louw
explains what was involved when he worked on British built trolleys in New blog added - Peter at potters Bar. NEW!! Video clips - currently listed on a
temporary page here. The aim of this site is to create an archive
of material recording the human side of the bus and coach industry - what it
was or is like working in the industry.
This is a sadly under-recorded aspect of the industry, not well
catered for on the web or in books and magazine articles. There are also some tramway stories. The site will concentrate on links to
sources of material but some original material will also be posted here. Use the links below to select what
interests you. It's likely that most of the stories will be
historical but current day stories and blogs are also welcome. If you'd like to contribute a story - not
matter how long or short - please contact
me to discuss. Ideally
material submitted should be in Microsoft Word or Works format, and I can
usually use pictures as well. This site is hosted as a "spare
time" activity so please be patient if you contact
the webmaster - I have many calls on my time! It was only established in January
2007 and content is slowly being added. This site is NOT the place to record whinges, alleged safety or legal breaches
or complaints about your employer!
There are many other channels to do this, such as through your trade
union or to the Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA) or through
other web-sites such as psvdrivers.com. Use the links page below. It's also not about the 1960s/1970s sitcom "on The Buses" - visit
their fan club site. |
