Terry Challis worked for Eastern National in
the 1960s, initially in the schedules department, then as a seasonal conductor
and later seasonal driver, both at He has contributed a series of articles for Essex Bus News (the monthly magazine
of the Essex Bus Enthusiasts Group) and these are
reproduced here. The prequel covers
his early bus spotting days in south east Essex and we are progressively
adding a sequel with more recent experiences as a spotter and passenger. The photos that accompanied the
